Split PDF Free, No Sign-Up, No Watermark
Cut one PDF into several files: by page ranges, every few pages, or page by page.
By using this tool you agree to our Terms. Always keep a copy of your original files.
- No sign-up.
- No paywall.
- Your files never leave your device.
How to split a PDF
- Add your PDF. Drop it onto the box above, or use Choose PDF files.
- Choose Split in the toolbar, then pick how: By page ranges, By number of pages or Into single pages. The panel shows how many files you'll get before you start.
- Choose Split and download. Several files arrive together in one .zip file. If the split makes only one file, you get a plain PDF.
Three ways to split
By page ranges. Type the pages each file should hold, separated by commas: 1-3, 5, 8-10 makes three files. A range can run to the last page, as in 11-.
By number of pages. Every 2, 5 or 10 pages become a file, for example to separate scanned forms that are each two pages long.
Into single pages. Every page becomes its own PDF.
Before splitting you can still reorder, rotate or delete pages: the split follows the pages as the grid shows them, using the position numbers on the tiles. The parts are named after the original, such as statement-part-01.pdf, inside statement-split.zip.
Where the splitting happens
Your files are processed in your browser and are never uploaded to our servers. The parts and the .zip file are made in your browser, on your device, and saved to your downloads. No sign-up. An account would only make sense if we kept your files, and we never receive them. No watermarks.
Good to know
- Password-protected PDFs can't be opened. Remove the password in your PDF reader first.
- A link inside the PDF that points to a page in a different part won't go anywhere, and bookmarks are not kept.
Questions about splitting PDFs
Which page numbers do I type?
The position numbers shown on the pages in the grid. If you have moved pages, the numbers follow the new order.
Can I type ranges with full-width characters?
Yes. Full-width digits, commas and dashes, such as 1-3,5, are read the same as 1-3, 5.
Why did I get a PDF instead of a .zip file?
When a split makes only one file, it downloads as a PDF. Two or more files come together in one .zip file.
Can I split only some of the pages?
A split always covers every page in the grid. To leave pages out, delete them first, or select the pages you want and use Extract.
Can I split more than one PDF at once?
Add the files together and their pages become one sequence. The split then runs across all of them, in the order shown.
